THE CHALLENGE

Hughes has been selling electricals for 100 years. A family business, beloved locally, but increasingly seen as a brand for grandparents, not modern families. They needed to rediscover their relevance as the first stop for family life.

Hughes has been selling electricals for 100 years. A family business, beloved locally, but increasingly seen as a brand for grandparents, not modern families. They needed to rediscover their relevance as the first stop for family life.

THE STRATEGY

Electricals are the unsung heroes of home life. Without them, families can’t function. We wanted to celebrate that importance with warmth and charm, showing that Hughes understands what makes a home work.

We created seven animated appliance characters, each with its own personality, who come to life when the family leaves the room.
